:: 126 Philip Street Sydney

The project features one of our most attractive granites, which has been specified on several major projects and exported to a number of countries, including Italy.

Austral Juperana is a truly striking stone that has a wide variety of uses. Over 1,400 square metres of Austral Juperana was quarried by AustralAsian Granite.

Melocco Stone began the task of processing the stone into 430 x 1121 x 40 mm slabs in April of this year. Every effort was made to grade the selected blocks to minimise colour variation.

Jim Mann of Stone Initiatives & Materials Testing, conducted tests on the material before and during the project.

Saba Bros Tiling laid the stone in co-ordination with Pieter Boer of Stoneplus Pty Ltd. The lead architects Foster & Partners (London), principal Sir Norman Foster, were represented by project director Sven Ollman, who collaborated with local architects Hassell Pty Ltd.

126 Phillip Street is considered to be a radical design, with its lifts housed on one side of the structure to provide expanses of open floor space.

The exfoliated material provides excellent slip resistance characteristics.
